Digital Lecture
All lectures and exercises are recorded and made available in the form of videos via the ILIAS course. The videos are published every Monday on a weekly basis. The first video will be put online on 09.11.2020.
Every Friday from 2–3pm a live question and answer session on lectures and exercises will be offered. In this live question and answer session, students can ask questions which are then answered by the lecturers. In addition, the topics of the previous lecture and exercise videos are briefly summarized and a preview of the upcoming topics is given. All live question times will be recorded and made available on ILIAS. The first live question and answer session will take place on Friday 06.11.2020.
Description
The notion of enterprise application is introduced. Based on this the need for loose coupling is derived and its realization via reliable messaging sketched. Message-oriented middleware(MOM) and a sample MOM architecture is discussed in detail, and JMS as a supporting standard API is presented. Next, basic integration styles are outlined and a survey of the enterprise integration pattern language is given. This language is then discussed in depth: messaging, messaging endpoints, message channels, message construction, message routing, message transformation, message management. The concept of a message bus is sketched.
